Biomass. MCS is a government recognised body, who ensure that all products and installations are carried out in accordance with all current legislations and are of an exceptionally high standard. Only MCS installations using MCS approved products are eligible for the RHI Scheme.
WHY RENEWABLE ENERGY?
Renewables are fast becoming the leading source of energy in both domestic and commercial properties throughout the UK. This is because not only are they cleaner for the enviroment, highly efficient and sustainable but also because the Government has realised that in order to achieve their 20% by 2020 target, tehy must provide the public with an incentive to go green. This is where the recently announced RHI Scheme plays an important role. The RHI Scheme, (Renewable Heat Incentive) was announced in spring 2011, and within this announcement the government has proposed to pay annual dividends to Renewable installations with effect from October 2011 for up to 20 years. Solar Thermal installations allow you to achieve your hot water supply at a low cost. Living on the Isle of Lewis, some people may be sceptical as to the effectiveness of Solar products due to the short periods of sunshine thoughout the year, however, you may be suprised to find that Solar is infact a viable source of energy even without consistant sunshine. Ferguson's source the highest quality of solar thermal panels, ensuring that the working and visual standard of the panels is exceptional. The feedback from our current installations has shown that Solar has allowed customers to save money on their heating bills as they are not 100% dependant on their boilers for their hot water needs, and the cost of running Solar is considerably lower than using fossil fuels to obtain your hot water supply.
Heat Pumps use either air or ground temperatures to generate energy. Air source heat pumps use a reverse refigeration process to turn cold air in to warm to heat your water supply. Ground Source heat pumps absorb the earths natural heat via a coil which then carries the heat to your water supply within the property. Biomass is one of the more rewarded sources of renewable energy by the RHI scheme. with regards to the tariff levels. Pellet burners use reformed pellets made from compressed sawdust, which is easily produced at a low cost, and they burn clean which is less harmful to the enviroment. Pellet burners can come in a variety of sized dependant on the heat requirements for the property and can be top loaded manually or loaded with a larger bulk hopper unit. Ferguson's have two Pellet Burner units live at the premises, one central heating model and one room heat only model.
